MyRocketbook Social Safety Advice (SSA):
MyRocketbook.com is a growing and active community that embraces our users in their desire to interact with each other every day. Yet not everyone who comes to our community chooses to play by the rules and it is important for everyone who uses the site to protect their identity to those they know only in a virtual sense.
Here is our list of social safety advice we recommend that you follow here on MyRocketbook.com (and other social sites as well) to help ensure that you can use your personal profile safely and take advantage of all the great opportunities presented by the fantastic community we’ve been able to build here while not facing any troubles from those who choose to exhibit lesser virtue than yourself.
General Safety
• MyRocketbook.com is a social academic community. If you plan on using MyRocketbook.com for other aspects we recommend using any of the other wonderful sites where you can meet members for whatever social reasons you desire – think of MyRocketbook as the super cool library where it is fine to talk as much as you want and get your homework done better and faster than ever before.
• We want your claims and content! But we don’t want anything that is offensive, racially insensitive, pornographic, etc. to be brought into our community. Simply, this is not the place for that. Remember, any materials you place on the site is content that belongs to you. In other words, if you choose to break the rules – please be prepared to face the consequences.
• Keep your profile clean. Remember, this is where your educational life is online. If you don’t want schools, professors, or other people to see something associated with you – then you probably shouldn’t have it on there. Of course if we find anything pornographic on your profile, pictures or videos, we will delete it along with your account. You will be immediately excused from our community with no chance for parole.
• Your personal information is YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION! Once you have created a profile we will never ask you for your password, email address or other personal information. If somebody contacts claiming to be from MyRocketbook.com, do NOT give them any sensitive information. If you have any doubts, contact us immediately.
Profile Safety
• Pay attention to anything in your profile that might contain references to or images of license plate tags and/or your life's surroundings (yard/street/etc). Do not unwittingly invite miscreants into your life.
• Never put anything in your profile that you don't want strange people to know or see, especially very intimate details. That type of stuff really belongs in your diary or little black book and not on a public forum like the Internet! We love to share, but sometimes you can share too much!
• If you see another member with graphic and offensive images on their profile, please contact us immediately and we'll take it down.
Video Safety
• If a video you post is not intended for public viewing, simply mark it 'private.' That way, no one but you or selected friends can see it. Click here to learn how to keep your videos to yourself until your ready to unveil them to the MyRocketbook world.
• Whenever you upload a video, other members can comment on it. If someone leaves a comment that bugs you, just delete it. If a comment is offensive contact us with any concerns.
